Over the years, students have created meaningful engineering projects, including electric vehicle prototypes, automated machine tools, renewable energy systems, robotics models, 3D-printed components, and smart manufacturing concepts. These project experiences strengthen problem-solving skills and help students stand out during placements.

Career development is supported through industrial visits, expert talks, technical workshops, and internships in engineering industries. With guidance from the Training and Placement Cell, students receive training in aptitude, communication, interview preparation, and company-specific requirements, enabling them to secure roles in mechanical core companies as well as interdisciplinary fields. Graduates build careers in automotive industries, manufacturing plants, HVAC and thermal firms, production and maintenance units, design and simulation offices, and engineering service companies.

Overview

The aim of the undergraduate programme in Mechanical Engineering is to prepare students for research and professional practice in an era of rapidly advancing interdisciplinary technology. It maintains a balance between classroom lectures, laboratory and design experience with emphasis on problem-formulation and solving skills that are essential to any engineering discipline. The programme also strives to develop in each student, self-reliance, creativity, leadership, professional ethics, and the capacity for continuing professional and intellectual growth. State-of-the-art facilities are provided for the students in the form of well equipped laboratories and a departmental library. Excellent computational facility and all relevant software supported by adequate number of high performance systems are available in the department which help a student to gain specialized knowledge in fields such as computer aided engineering, computational mechanics, etc.

It gives me immense pleasure to put forward the vision of Mechanical Engineering Department, Maratha Mandal Engineering College. The Department of Mechanical Engineering Engineering was started in the academic year 1997. Right from its inception, the Department is functioning with an aim to produce quality engineers in the area of Mechanical Engineering to suit the needs of the industries. With qualified and experienced senior faculty the department boast of rich academic delivery both theory and practical. The sophisticated labs of the department like CIM, CAED, CAMA, and Software lab with software like ANSYS, Solid edge Edge cam, MATLAB, LabView help students to simulate and emulate with the real time problems in a more practical way.
